  You can call him an asshole, you can call him a douchebag, you can call him a rat who thinks he is smarter than everyone, you can call him a spray-tanned weird lip sits with his feet facing each other awkward freak, but you must also call him champion. Tommy motherfucking Smokes fulfilling his lifelong dream in the Surviving Barstool finale winning the ten thousand dollars, but more importantly to him proving that he has the gameplay skills to compete on another similarly ran network television show.   Going into the episode I had broken down how and why each of the final four could win, and I really thought that each of them had a chance to do so. In my blog yesterday I said that I felt that Brianna was safe and that we’d likely see a 2-2 tie between one of the guys and Kelly, and with Bri winning immunity I thought logically that that is where we were heading.   Two days ago we god our first proof that 2021 is going to be better than 2020 in the form of an announcement from EA Sports that the NCAA Football series will be returning, date TBD. At first I was ecstatic. I haven’t stopped playing NCAA 14 since it’s initial release, being disgustingly far into dynasty mode, having completed dozens of road to glory careers, and having about 10 various roster files saved on my XBOX so that I can seamlessly change between years, depending on if I want to play as Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, or Joe Burrow. I love these games, they mean a lot to me. So when EA’s announcement came I was initially pumped about the prospect of new versions of these games returning. Then I remembered… EA Sports sucks nowadays. The company that brought us all so much joy throughout our childhoods is now a money crazed, incompetent, out of touch, absolute waste of a video game company. Seriously. Oh boy oh boy, another great episode of Surviving Barstool tonight and we are now officially four episodes deep with one to go after getting the penultimate episode of the season last night. This episode wasn’t the most dramatic episode of the season but it had some big game moves that are going to play a part come finale night when a winner is chosen. We opened on an awkward post council Tommy and Donnie cold open where Donnie takes about three episodes worth of time to say that Tommy should trust him now after not voting for him. I mean this is best scenario for Tommy, he just fucked everyone over and Donnie is joking around with him after it? Can’t ask for much more than that. Tommy’s whole strategy this episode seemed to be just turning down the heat around himself. We see it in what looked like a thrown challenge, how he campaigned for votes more conservatively, and ultimately he doesn’t get his way this episode because of that sacrifice to turn the heat down. It might not be sexy

Alright, we’re now three episodes into Surviving Barstool and things are heating up. Over the last two episodes we saw a lot of action that I am going to unpack here. I was right and wrong about a lot of things that I predicted in my episode one blog so I’m going to talk about all of that as well, but we’re going to start with a recap of episode two. After White Sox Dave bit the dust in episode one we were down to seven competitors in episode two. We opened the episode on what might have been the most unsettling thing I have ever witnessed: Tommy, looking like his body was absolutely deteriorating. Tommy literally looked like the kid from The Middle had been in a morgue for three days as he attempted to tie his shoes like some sort of young chimpanzee who doesn’t have fully developed motor skills yet. Listen, I love Tommy Smokes, but if how he’s been holding up living in the office for three days is any indication of how he’d survive in the wild, he’s going to need to do a Bear Grylls

  The following is a recap, review, and predictions for the inaugural season of Surviving Barstool that I wrote yesterday after watching the premiere. It is Super Bowl week and that means so is the biggest week of the year for Barstool Sports. Traditionally flocks of employees migrate to wherever the location of the big game is, but this year with a little thing called COVID, (ever heard of it?) the Super Bowl week content looks a lot different. With that being said, it looks to be that the silver lining of this strange Super Bowl week experience is the first season of Surviving Barstool.   Going into this show I gotta say I was stoked. It seems like everyone had been gassing up the show on Twitter and radio this week, and boy did it live up to the hype in episode one.
