Turnaround Tuesday: Week One

Image
TURNAROUND TUESDAY Week one of the NFL season has officially come to a close last night, with the Seattle Seahawks upsetting the Denver Broncos and spoiling Russell Wilson’s return to Seattle / Bronco debut. There were many ups and downs in week one across the board for all thirty two teams, but the thing is, this is football and you have to have a short term memory. No matter how good or bad week one was for your team, it is Tuesday and it is week two now. Traditionally Tuesday’s are my least favorite day of the week during football season. There are no games, all the injury news is ambiguous, and worst of all if you are coming off a loss your next game feels a million years away. There is always a feeling of hopeless and craving something more. That is why I have decided to start this new series, Turnaround Tuesdays. Every Tuesday I will go team by team talking about what every losing team this week did right/wrong last week and what the fans have to look forward to in the upcoming w

Barstool Vs America Finale Tune Up: Is Anything Stopping Blue?

Image
Finale Tune Up! We are officially in the countdown to the Barstool vs America finale episode tonight at 7:00. Four cities down and one more to go in Boston. So far this season the Blue team has been absolutely dominant in every competition, but obviously, none of that matters if they don't win tonight. Now, it would be a pretty fair assumption that the Blue team would dominate Yellow in the final competition regardless of who comes back from the Get Back challenge, but even if that is the case whatever happens after that is going to come down to who has captainship for each team. In this blog, I'm going to break down what conspired in episode four, what to look for in episode five, and what I believe each contestant could do if they are the captain of the winning side.  Talking about episode four, we opened the episode dealing with the fallout of Dana Beers' blindside of Pat in Wisconsin. Dana didn't really do a great job explaining to Nick and Alex why he went agains

Barstool vs America Episodes 2/3 Recap and Midseason Breakdown

"No, I have Never Log Rolled Before If You Have That's Weird" We are officially now more than halfway through Barstool vs America and boy oh boy what a two-episode run it has been. The blue team has been just absolutely DOMINATING the competition, but did Dana Beers just mess it all up? We are gonna talk about all of that and where I think each of the competitors stands at the mid-way point, but first let's run through what happened in the past two episodes and my takes on the defining moments. Episode two was a relatively quiet episode, we got some good hungover Glenny Balls content, another fantastic competition entrance from Jeff D Lowe, and ultimately another dominant Blue team win (thanks in part to yellow team captain Joey), and sending newcomer Glenny home. I was pretty bummed to see Balls leave the competition so quickly and honestly surprised to see Nick not go for a bigger target, but Nick once again made the clean blood-free move to get out another guy wh

Barstool vs America Episode One Recap: Is Mush Smart?

“SHE'S IS TOO WEAK, SHE IS TOO DUMB, SHE COULDN'T DO THE PUZZLE!" Barstool vs America season two is off and running! After an awesome first season filled with betrayal, laughs, and nooners, Jeff D Lowe and the team are back for season two in what is sure to be the most dramatic Barstool reality show yet. Right off the bat upon the cast list announcement I was stoked for this season, eight great contestants with a lot of Barstool reality show experience between them, and the promise of the most ambitious season of reality competition content from Barstool yet. In this blog I am gonna recap the first episode with my thoughts on some of the key moments from the gangs time in Florida, where I think things stand after one episode, and what to look forward to in episode two. So, to kick things off the three pairs of dynamic duos (plus Alex and Keegs) were split up in two teams with Pat, Dana, Alex and Nick on the Blue team and KB, Joey, Keegs, and Mush on the Yellow team. Now,

Surviving Barstool Episode 5 Recap: Did The Jurors Get It Right?

You can call him an asshole, you can call him a douchebag, you can call him a rat who thinks he is smarter than everyone, you can call him a spray-tanned weird lip sits with his feet facing each other awkward freak, but you must also call him champion. Tommy motherfucking Smokes fulfilling his lifelong dream in the Surviving Barstool finale winning the ten thousand dollars, but more importantly to him proving that he has the gameplay skills to compete on another similarly ran network television show.   Going into the episode I had broken down how and why each of the final four could win, and I really thought that each of them had a chance to do so. In my blog yesterday I said that I felt that Brianna was safe and that we’d likely see a 2-2 tie between one of the guys and Kelly, and with Bri winning immunity I thought logically that that is where we were heading. However, one thing I did not account for was Tommy Smokes coming in with a fake idol! I mean Jesus, what a conniving play t

The Return Of NCAA Football Games: 5 Things I Want And 5 I Don't Want

Image
Two days ago we god our first proof that 2021 is going to be better than 2020 in the form of an announcement from EA Sports that the NCAA Football series will be returning, date TBD. At first I was ecstatic. I haven’t stopped playing NCAA 14 since it’s initial release, being disgustingly far into dynasty mode, having completed dozens of road to glory careers, and having about 10 various roster files saved on my XBOX so that I can seamlessly change between years, depending on if I want to play as Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, or Joe Burrow. I love these games, they mean a lot to me. So when EA’s announcement came I was initially pumped about the prospect of new versions of these games returning. Then I remembered… EA Sports sucks nowadays. The company that brought us all so much joy throughout our childhoods is now a money crazed, incompetent, out of touch, absolute waste of a video game company. Seriously. Madden 21 currently has a 0.2/10.0 user rating on metacritic. That’s hilario
